Project Engineer - EMC

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Initiate communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services.
• Follow up on client contacts and address client concerns to resolve issues.
• Provide technical assistance to clients regarding product inspection and follow-up services.
• Establish appropriate test programs by reviewing files, manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.
• Notify clients of any non-compliance with UL requirements or changes in project scope/specifications.
• Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets, scheduling, and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff, and establishing completion dates.
• Manage administrative aspects of project management.
• Serve as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.
• Communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and report preparation.
• Prepare Follow-Up Service Procedures and information pages.
• Integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
• Resolve engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of variations.
• Propose development of new and/or revised UL requirements.
• Develop special test methods and test equipment.
• Coordinate and/or perform File Reviews.
• Represent UL at industry-related functions such as seminars and trade shows.
• Provide direction as a Primary Designated Engineer or Designated Engineer for specific product categories.
• Direct and review work of assigned staff.
• Train office, field, and/or laboratory staff and entry-level engineers.
• Provide technical assistance to laboratory and/or field staff.
• Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and adhere to all physical and digital security practices.
• Perform other duties as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Electronical or Electrotechnical Engineer.
• Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.
• Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in EMC.
• Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in area of expertise
• Fluency in English and Italian
• Availability to work on shift (Morning - Afternoon)
