The Project Director oversees InterSystems TrakCare implementation projects, managing multiple teams and ensuring successful delivery while building customer relations and coordinating with stakeholders.

The Project Director will be accountable for the successful completion of InterSystems Corporation TrakCare implementation projects on a regional basis, holding immediate responsibility for overseeing the projects within their region through a network of local Project Managers. 

The Project Director is responsible for working with the Project Manager to initiate and maintaining the relationship between InterSystems and the Customer Project Manager (or nominated representative) throughout the Project implementation cycle.

As well, is responsible for the business unit in the financial – operational matters of one program

  • Be the ambassador to the customers for whom he/she is implementing solutions and the escalation point between the customer and the Professional Services Director. 
  • Oversee and manage multiple projects at the same time, provide leadership and guidance to the project team; use influential and persuasive skills to mobilize internal and external resource to achieve the necessary results.
  • Monitoring of the Project implementation timescales and resources with the local Project Manager, to ensure the project is achieving milestones and remains within budget.
  • Determine the development requirements required for Project in conjunction with the Product Manager and Professional Services Director.
  • Undertake Implementation / Project research as required
  • Develop the Project Plans in conjunction with the Professional Services Director and Health Solutions Architects.
  • Strengthen the local service team through earning the respect of the local implementation team, customers and VARs with solution expertise, creative ideas and leadership charm.
  • Support the Professional Services Director on pre-sales activities in terms of customer solution, time line, budget, cost, etc.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • An extensive a track record of managing and implementing large ERP/HIS projects.
  • A strong background and understanding of health care activities; the ability to understand the needs of a successful health care/ hospital operation.
  • A proven ability in grasping the specifics of complex operations under pressure. .
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, using effective project management tools. 
  • An understanding of the technology involved in the delivered solutions, including but not limited to database and enterprise application integration software.
  • Persuasive and effective communication skills.
  • A thorough understanding of leadership & management behavioural competencies
  • Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management  tools and principles.
  • Experience developing the relationship and operation coordinating third-party systems implementation providers, VAR partner representatives and subcontractors.
  • A track record of consistently delivering high quality services within target budget.
  • Strong presence that is charismatic and personable; a knowledgeable and capable resource for implementation staff, clients and VARS at all times.
  • A self-starter and a results-oriented individual.
  • Hard working, with demonstrated initiative and a "hands on" style. He/She will be heavily involved in mentoring and developing his/her team.
  • Strong client service mentality: The client should always be viewed as number one.
  • A high business ethic and a passion for improving the overall quality of healthcare.

Desirable              

  •  An understanding of hospital/business procedures, standard working practices, structure and politics
  • Previous experience as an end user of an integrated health/business system
  • Clinical/business experience or background – ideally as a user of TrakCare or other Hospital Information System (HIS) applications
  • Experience with integrated implementations
  • Broad understanding of IT technical implementation-delivery
  • Entrepreneur skills

Education & Training

Essential            

  •  University degree of 15+ years
  • Technical knowledge in software and implementation processes
  • Degree in the sciences, medical, hospital or business management.
  • Project Management qualification such as Prince2 , PMP or PMI 
  •  Senior level management training
