Overview of the opportunity:
- Lead and support Project Delivery and Operations for Australia, adopting an empowering approach from project initiation through contract development to successful handover to Services. Champion collaboration with functional teams across APAC, fostering a sense of unity and shared vision.
- Oversee resource planning for both immediate and long-term needs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and thoughtfully managed project installations for a comprehensive EPC wrap. This includes nurturing leadership growth, fostering teamwork, and continuously improving organizational practices across Australia.
- Take responsibility for the financial and operational health of all Fluence projects in Australia, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest customer satisfaction. Ensure the accuracy of internal financial and operational forecasts, supporting ongoing improvement through our ISO 9001-certified quality program.
- Build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, emphasizing a customer-focused communication style that promotes transparency, understanding, and a spirit of cooperation.
- Be a proactive decision-maker, providing thoughtful guidance to the Australian team, while working closely with cross-functional teams across APAC to achieve key project milestones.
- Engage collaboratively with customers, suppliers, partners, sales, and senior management to ensure that all project deliverables are met throughout the project life cycle, while also fostering effective risk management practices.
- Contribute to business improvement projects, regularly sharing updates and communicating project plans to the battery storage team, ensuring alignment and a shared understanding of goals.
- Partner with the Sales team in project development and tendering, ensuring that schedules align with procurement processes, project execution, and customer needs.
- Champion risk management practices, learning from each project to refine processes and encourage continuous improvement in all areas.
- Uphold compliance with Fluence’s Delegation of Authority, Standards of Governance, and actively support audits and corrective actions for the Australian business.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
- Degree as a state-certified technical engineer and over 10 years’ experience in renewable energy, with at least 5 years as a Project Director.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, creating an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages delivery excellence and the growth of complex projects.
- Experience in the renewable sector is highly valued, but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to empower and inspire others, foster a positive team dynamic, and approach challenges with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills, allowing for clarity and consistency in all aspects of the role.
- Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, with a focus on managing teams and ensuring project success.
- Experience in managing project teams, with a passion for nurturing high-performing organizations and cultivating long-term relationships based on trust and respect.
- Deep knowledge of project management, construction management, engineering, electrical systems, procurement, and supply contracts, with a passion for mentoring and guiding teams toward success.
- A collaborative team player who fosters open communication and strengthens mutual understanding across diverse and multicultural teams, always encouraging a shared sense of purpose.
- Collaborate with the Australian Leadership Team to align operational activities with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Skilled at balancing priorities across business units to help achieve the organization's goals while maintaining team harmony.
- Self-driven, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring progress is maintained.
- Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, with experience in project management, contract adherence and negotiation, subcontractor management, schedule development, and budget management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Project).
- An excellent communicator and relationship builder, earning trust and respect from clients, internal teams, and external partners, always putting people first.
