Job Summary:

The College of Engineering, School of Mechanical, Industrial, & Manufacturing Engineering is seeking a short-term, Project Director. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, position.  This position is expected to last approximately 12 months.

The Project Director will manage daily operations to ensure that outcomes meet approved budget and milestone plan in support of the mission of the $5M contract from the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the project titled “Pacific Northwest Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (PACNW-IAM)” to strengthen the capabilities of small and medium manufacturers in Oregon and across the Pacific Northwest.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations.

  • Schedule instructors and students into workshops.

  • Coordinate intake of participating firms.

  • Maintain the master workplan, milestone dashboard, and project document repository.

  • Prepare quarterly reports on project milestone completion.

  • Review monthly spending against the approved budget and milestone plan.

  • Serve as the point of contact for site leads.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or other related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing one or more projects with a cumulative budget of over $1M and more than 10 project staff

  • Demonstrated experience with financial management

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity tools

  • Proficiency with project management software

  • Professional written and verbal communication ​

 

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional certification

  • Demonstrated experience managing federally funded projects

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing sector

Working Conditions/Schedule:Normal business hours. Option for hybrid or remote work with occasional in-person meetings in Corvallis required. Some travel to locations in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho may be required.Salary Range:$81,000 - $90,000Anticipated Start Date:2026-09-30Anticipated End Date:2027-09-30
