At BSM Cruise India, As Project Cost Controller/Analyst / Specialist is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and reporting vessel capital expenditure (CAPEX), dry dock budgets and expenditure, and major repair projects. The role supports financial transparency and cost optimisation through accurate tracking of project expenditures, budget variances, cost allocations, and settlement calculations between vessel owners and charterers.
Job Description:
CAPEX Management - · Monitor and track vessel CAPEX projects from budget approval through completion.
Prepare monthly CAPEX reports highlighting project status, spend, forecasts, and variances.
Coordinate with Technical and Finance teams to ensure correct project allocation and coding of costs.
Dry Dock Cost Control - Maintain detailed dry dock cost tracking sheets and monitor project budgets
Analyse cost variances and identify budget risks or potential savings opportunities.
Prepare dry dock cost summaries and management reporting.
Calculate Repair & Maintenance (R&M) cost allocations between owners and charterers in accordance with contractual agreements.
Prepare periodic settlement statements and supporting calculations between owners & charterers
Perform budget-versus-actual analysis for CAPEX and major projects.
Support annual budget preparation and forecasting exercises.
Education & Qualifications:
· Bachelors in Accounting/Finance or marine engineering or nautical science.
Work Experience:
▪ minimum 2 years work experience as deck/engine cadet or officer on board.
OR
▪ minimum 2 years work experience as junior controller or accountant for a ship owning or management company.
Job-Specific Skills:
· Excellent excel and Microsoft office skills.
· Understanding of maritime operations, dry docking, or technical vessel management.
· Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities.
· High attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets
· Experience with CAPEX tracking, budgeting, and cost reporting is advantageous
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
· Strong analytical proficiency
Fluency in English
Skills Required
