The Project and Communications Coordinator IV role will be the focal point and key contributor for all internal and external communications for Manufacturing Organization of Medtronic Tempe Campus (MTC). The role will report directly to the Manufacturing Operation Leader of MTC. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this individual will be the expert in communications; to support site level strategic initiatives. This role is responsible for leading a diverse range of projects, and some at the MTC Campus level, such as employee engagement activities and events, manage some city of Tempe required programs, philanthropy and wellness program related projects and participate, organize, maintain and communicate Medtronic Performance System (MPS) related activities. In addition, this individual will lead projects of strategic importance as assigned by the Manufacturing Operation Leader. This role will provide administrative support to the Manufacturing Operation Leader and the Manufacturing Engineering Leader as well as their key staff (Operation, Engineering and Program Managers).

This is an on-site based role.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Provides project or program support to a functional group or business process.

  • Monitors program/project/system status, budgets and timetables.

  • Applies knowledge of and experience in company operations to assist in the development, implementation and administration of program/system guidelines and procedures.

  • Gathers and compiles information for reports.

  • Lead or assist with special events and initiatives, Employee Engagement activities/special events throughout the year such as Quality Day and Diversity Day.

  • Coordinate various customer or leadership site visits

  • Organize regular All Employee / Leadership Update meetings

  • Develop regular site-wide email & communications (internal) to keep employees connected to the broader organization  

  • Oversee Visual management and facility branding (displays/boards in hallways)

  • Write, edit, proofread printed or digital material; for both internal and external 

  • Participate in developing communication materials for the site strategic vision

  • Serve as Philanthropy Liaison and Wellness Coordinator for the site

  • Assist the site leader with calendar management, expense reporting, travel and other diverse administrative duties and projects

  • Prepare and facilitate staff agendas and schedules

  • Track and follow up on action items for leadership team

  • Manage the development and reporting of key facility site metrics

  • Perform adjustments or recommendations for enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area

Qualifications

 Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Requires advanced practical knowledge within a specific discipline typically gained through extensive work experience and/or education.
Requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong energy, aptitude and attitude for continuous improvement

  • Experience and strength in project management

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience performing a variety of complex or technical-advanced administrative and clerical duties, expense reporting and travel planning

  • Advanced knowledge and skill set in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and adobe or other creative software

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with digital media

  • Experience with electronic meeting/calendar coordination and Teams

  • Experience in large event and special project leadership

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion, as well as maintenance of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to set priorities and resolve issues independently

  • Experience working on multiple projects in a dynamic, deadline driven environment – demonstrated skill under pressure

  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency 

  • Ability to work with little direction and supervision, manage timelines and expectations, adjust for unplanned assignments, and adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to relate to diverse communities and levels; strong customer service orientation.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$62,400.00 - $93,600.00


This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
