Project Controller - Cost

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Establish and maintain robust cost control systems, processes, and baselines to support accurate cost management.
• Develop and maintain project cost forecasts, including cost trending, variance analysis, and change management to ensure cost predictability.
• Set up, configure, and maintain SAP and Omega 365 cost structures in accordance with approved work processes.
• Track, monitor, and maintain cost data integrity in SAP and Omega 365 throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and manage WIP during bidding, project award, and execution phases.
• Develop and issue regular costs, commitment, and manhour reports to support project and management reviews.
• Support currency exposure management and hedging activities in coordination with Treasury, ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
• Manage project scope changes, cost variances, and associated approvals in line with governance requirements.
• Provide cost input for project release forms, forecasts, and management decision support.
• Collaborate extensively with Tax, Treasury, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Procurement, Business Area, and project teams.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant reporting in accordance with Air Products policies, procedures, engineering practices, and work instructions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, lessons learned, and capability development within the regional and global Project Controls community.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Possession of solid cost control skills and knowledge. Sound knowledge, proven skills and competencies in application of project cost management, methodologies and tools.
• Minimum 5 years’ project cost control experience. Must have a track record of delivering accurate cost information, reporting and guidance to senior Management.
• Experience of ASU or related business and equivalent projects is required.
• Proficient skills & knowledge of SAP are required.
• Proficient skills & knowledge of Omega 365 is preferred.
• Proven skills and experience of cost control on global basis, executed by multiple engineering offices.
• Experience in multination / international company or overseas project is preferred.
• Understanding of a variety of project types, structures and contract terms. This includes sales of gas (SOG), third party sales of equipment (SOE) and joint ventures.
• Accept project assignments and working in different locations.
• Be fluent in both spoken and written in English.
• Be a good team player.
• Determined, adaptable and resilient. Able to achieve success under significant pressure, evolving requirements and conflicting priorities.
• Culturally astute. Experience and ability to work with different cultures associated with multi-region project execution, and to therefore achieve success with a multi-cultural team. Experience of customer and external stakeholder regional cultures, and ability to achieve success with those cultures.
• Relationship network. Established and proven relationships to apply leverage to execute the project.
• Core competencies. Commercial and technical acumen, detailed working knowledge of project cost control tools and systems.
