Role Description
Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the VP PMO will play a key role in establishing and operating effective governance, reporting and portfolio management practices across a complex change portfolio.
The role will be responsible for driving transparency across the book of work, providing senior stakeholders with clear visibility of delivery progress, priorities, risks, dependencies, resource demand and investment outcomes. The individual will work closely with Business, Technology and Change teams to bring structure, discipline and consistent ways of working across a portfolio where governance and controls are continuing to evolve.
Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, the successful candidate will facilitate governance forums, coordinate portfolio planning and prioritisation activities, and ensure decisions are supported by accurate, timely and actionable management information. The role requires strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across multiple teams and build effective relationships at all levels of the organisation.

Your key responsibilities
Establish and operate the governance framework for a change portfolio, introducing structure, transparency and clear decision-making across business, technology and change stakeholders.
Partner with Senior Business, Change Leads, Technology and Change teams to provide a consolidated view of delivery progress, priorities, risks, dependencies and key decisions across the ETRM book of work.
Support portfolio planning, demand management and prioritisation, ensuring initiatives align to strategic objectives, capacity and funding constraints.
Drive governance forums, including, working groups, ensuring effective preparation, clear outcomes and robust follow-up actions.
Provide reporting and management information that enables informed decision-making across delivery, financials, resources, milestones and benefits realisation.
Identify, track and manage cross-programme dependencies, risks and issues, escalating where appropriate and driving timely resolution.
Build strong working relationships with senior stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Operations, Finance, Technology and Change functions.
Maintain portfolio standards, governance documentation, RAID processes, delivery plans and audit-ready artefacts.
Drive continuous improvement across PMO processes, reporting and governance practices, introducing greater consistency, efficiency and transparency.
Act as a trusted partner and constructive challenger to delivery teams and senior stakeholders, helping drive accountability and successful outcomes across the portfolio.
Your skills and experience
Significant PMO, Programme Management Office or Portfolio Management experience within Financial Services.
Proven experience supporting large-scale business and technology transformation programmes, preferably within Capital Markets, Trading, Risk or Commodities environments.
Strong governance expertise, including establishing governance structures, facilitating senior forums and implementing effective reporting and controls.
Demonstrable experience providing portfolio-level transparency across delivery, financials, resources, risks and dependencies.
Experience working directly with senior business stakeholders, technology leaders and programme sponsors in a complex, matrix organisation.
Strong planning, prioritisation, organisation and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills, with confidence engaging and influencing at senior leadership level.
Experience producing high-quality executive presentations, status reporting and decision-support materials.
Strong understanding of programme and project management methodologies, governance controls and delivery lifecycle management.
Experience using portfolio and project management tooling such as Jira, Confluence, Clarity and Microsoft Office products.
Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
