Sinclair, Inc. is seeking an experienced photojournalist to join the award-winning Project Baltimore team. This special investigative reporting unit of WBFF Fox 45 News is one of the top investigative teams in the country. Project Baltimore produces regularly scheduled investigative reports on issues in the public education systemThe team also produces documentaries, town halls, and program specials. We are looking for a team member who is eager to hone their craft and set industry-standards for impactful storytelling that combines research and data with human emotion. Must be able to shoot and edit character-driven stories with visual punctuation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about storytelling and skilled in creating cutting-edge graphics to help showcase documents and data.

This is a rare opportunity. Project Baltimore is a five-person team of motivated journalists, committed to digging deeper, holding officials accountable and being a voice for the voiceless. As a member of this team, you will be expected to share ideas and work well with others as part of the collaborative process.

Since its creation in 2017, Project Baltimore’s investigative work has been recognized with dozens of honors, including a National Emmy for Investigative Reporting, four prestigious IRE Awards, five first place National Headliner Awards, the SPJ Sigma Delta Chi Award, a National Press Photographers Association First Place award for best documentary. Additionally, Project Baltimore has been named an Alfred I. duPont finalist and has won 50 Regional Emmy Awards, 13 Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and 11 Associated Press Awards.

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of television news photography and non-linear editing experience
  • Must be professional, organized, and responsible
  • Team-player with a good attitude and strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated to work on long-term projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and interview subjects
  • Ability to accept input and constructive criticism
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • Experience with cine-style FX/alpha series Sony cameras is a plus
  • Part 107 Drone License is a plus

The base salary compensation range for this role is $64,000 to $80,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location. Full time positions are eligible for benefits that include participation in a retirement plan, life and disability insurance, health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, sick leave, vacation time, personal time, parental leave and employee stock purchase plan.
