Under
the supervision of the Financial Controller, the Project Accountant will play a
hands-on role in managing the daily operations of project accounting. We are
seeking a results-driven, dependable, and proactive professional to provide
strong support to our Project Team.
Primary
Responsibilities
- Support the development of Project Proposals by verifying that cost
estimates are accurate and the scope of work is clearly articulated.
- Preparation of Projected Cash Flow for the Various Projects
- Review and validate contractor claim documents to ensure accuracy
and eligibility for payment.
- Manage the processing of payments to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers (FAR), ensuring all
assets are properly safeguarded and covered by adequate insurance.
- Projects Accounts are up-to-date, timely reconciliation and all
internal controls, processes and procedures are adhered to
- Ensure all financial transactions are supported by adequate source
documents and approval from the financial delegate
- Coordinate with Projects team to provide Project Status Report for
review to ensure timely completion of the Project and to avoid additional time
/ cost overrun
- Determine and verify the actual costs incurred upon completion of
projects.
- Facilitate the transfer of completed projects into fixed assets,
ensuring all necessary documentation is properly compiled and submitted.
- Timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports
accurately
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Equivalent with 5 to 10 years’ experience in
a similar role.
- Full member of CPA-PNG or nearly completion to be a member of
CPA-PNG.
- Technically strong finance professional with experience in handling large projects
- Working knowledge with Attaché.
- Advanced Excel skill is a must.
- Strong analytical abilities, planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure .
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills Required
