8Summary:
SCHEDULE: PRN; must be able to work at least 4 shifts per month. Scheduled hours will be between 7:30am-4:00pm CST, Monday-Friday. The PHP is closed weekends and holidays.
The Program Specialist II assumes the primary caretaker role for psychiatric patients, ages Pre-K through adolescents which includes activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, and the management of harmful behaviors. The Program Specialist II also participates in crisis intervention, teaching, group process and works on call as needed.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required preferably in psychology, child development, social work or related field. Minimum requirements changed March 2022. Prior employees grandfathered in with at least 2 years of previous inpatient/partial hospital/residential child or adolescent services for each year of college. Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment preferred.
Child growth and development education required
Pediatric experience preferred
Certification/Licensure:
BLS or must be completed within 60 days of start date
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention - Units 1-7 & 9-10 plus the CPI Childrens Control Position from Unit 8 or must be completed within 60 days of start date

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, child development, social work or related field

- BLS certification (must have or complete within 60 days of start)
- CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Units 1-7 & 9-10 and CPI Children's Control Position (Unit 8) (must have or complete within 60 days)
- Ability to perform crisis intervention and participate in group teaching/process
- PRN availability with ability to work at least 4 shifts per month (7:30am-4:00pm CST, Mon-Fri)
- Experience in inpatient or partial hospital psychiatric treatment
- Pediatric experience
