PMA is currently seeking a Program Scheduler for an exclusive assignment supporting the $8.5 billion 7-year NYC Borough-Based Jail System Program. The Program Scheduler will be located in the PMO office in New York City (Manhattan).

 

As a Program Scheduler, it is essential you possess excellent communication and team-building skills. You must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively, with full transparency, as required by the Client/Program. In addition, you must be knowledgeable and responsible for developing, reviewing, reporting, and supervising construction schedules and master program schedules for high-rise facilities, preferably with experience in detention facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, update, and maintain the master program schedule (cost and resource loaded).
  • Perform schedule reviews, prepare monthly schedule update analysis reports, investigate and analyze schedule impacts, and recommend corrective action plans to be taken to mitigate/avoid cost and schedule overruns.
  • Monitor, review, and report the project master program schedule status to the executive management team.
  • Prepare, discuss, and present materials related to the program master schedule in meetings with the Owner, A/E representatives, and other contractors, as required.
  • Develop “what-if” schedule scenarios, mitigation schedules, look-ahead schedules, and time impact analyses.
  • Identify schedule issues, opportunities, and corrective actions to mitigate potential delays to projects.

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in engineering and/or construction management required.
  • 12 – 15 years of experience in planning and scheduling /project controls/program controls on multiple sides of the business (e.g., consultant, owner, owner rep, contract/architect, contractor, engineer) required.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management & reporting required.
  • Experience in claims defense & prevention required.
  • Field experience required.
  • BIM and risk analysis knowledge a plus.
  • Must have experience in institutional/high-rise building construction, preferably experience in detention facilities.
  • Experience in the construction sequence of high-rise buildings is essential.
  • Proficient in using Primavera P6, MS Project, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in both project and program-level collaboration and reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation and development of resource-loaded design and construction schedules using the Critical Path Method (CPM).
  • Relevant construction scheduling experience in planning, scheduling, expediting, maintaining, and reporting the progress/status of work.
  • Proven ability to conduct meetings internally with the scheduling team and with the Client.
  • Understanding of construction and construction means and methods.
  • Must have Time Impact Analysis (TIA) expertise.

Additional Requirements

 

Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

 

Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
