Job Summary
Responsible for facilitating the movement of employees within the organization, identifying potential talent across the system and creating resources and pathways for career growth, ultimately aiming to retain key talent and optimize workforce utilization across various roles. This includes managing the Career Hub, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support the movement of talent, and facilitating the transition of employees hired through pipeline programs. This role involves end-to-end program management, including tracking progress, and developing key performance indicators to measure success. This role is also responsible for managing others and reports to the Director of Workforce Development.Job DescriptionMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in related field such as HR, Education, Public Administration or other closely related fields.
Licenses/Certifications: SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP) preferred.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
Five (5) or more years of experience in career coaching, workforce development, talent acquisition, employee engagement, program management, talent planning, HR or closely related fields.
Strong understanding of talent management principles and practices.
Ability to develop and execute internal mobility processes and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a culture of career growth and internal mobility.
Project management skills to execute internal mobility initiatives effectively, including managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Data analysis and interpretation skills to identify trends and inform decision-making.
Knowledge of HR systems and talent management platforms.
Strategic problem-solving skills to identify barriers to internal mobility and implement targeted solutions.
Excellent customer service skills, with ability to create exceptional employee experiences by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing support to internal employees, external partners, and program participants.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities and provide thoughtful change leadership.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees and managers at all levels.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for hiring, coaching, developing, and managing performance of Career Hub team members so they can successfully execute key internal mobility strategies.
Designs and implements internal mobility processes to facilitate career progression for employees across Memorial Hermann, focusing on creating and managing the Career Hub and internal mobility resources.
Establishes and manages an intake system for employee career consultations, tracking engagement and outcomes.
Oversees and manages the internal Career Hub for moving talent throughout the organization ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Facilitates internal mobility and supports internal mobility programs, including creating and maintaining detailed playbooks, employee resources and process workflows to streamline operations and enhance program efficiency.
Establishes clear career progression paths for employees across different departments and levels.
Develops internal talent mobility policies and procedures.
Utilizes data analytics to identify internal talent pools with transferrable skill sets across different roles.
Conducts skills gap analysis to determine training needs and resources for employees seeking internal mobility.
Communicates internal mobility opportunities to employees through various communication channels (Career Hub, MH Now, MH Communications).
Promotes a culture of career development and internal mobility within the organization.
Continuously seeks opportunities to improve processes and practices related to internal talent mobility.
Identifies necessary upskilling and reskilling programs to enable employees to qualify for new opportunities.
Collaborates with other internal Centers of Excellence (COEs) to support employees participating in internal programs by providing internal mobility and career development resources for employees participating in pipeline or pathway programs.
Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) related to internal mobility, such as the number of internal placements, employee retention rates, pipeline sources and time to fill internal vacancies.
Prepares reporting and analyzes data to identify areas for improvement and optimize internal mobility strategies.
Manages relationships with community-based organizations, youth programs, and workforce development to strengthen workforce pipeline.
Works with Site Coordinators and Education teams to ensure students completing rotations are connected with employment opportunities.
Maintains a comprehensive database of employees’ progression through education programs, ensuring they are prioritized for hiring.
Monitors, maintains, and analyzes workforce mobility data to refine workforce development programs and internal hiring strategies.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
