Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will oversee the implementation of product development for the portfolio of Service MV Drives.

You will manage and coordinate modernization projects and activities of substantial impact to the Service Portfolio, for the migration from previous Medium Voltage Drives control technology to the new control platform.

Your organizational skills as well as your technical skills in MV Drives will ensure high quality results and timely releases of our products to the market. With your experience in project management and your customer focus, you will ensure continuous alignment with the stake holders. Your ability to collaborate will create synergies among teams for various activities and contribute to improve the organization.

You will work closely together with the R&D and Lifecycle Management team and the Product management team.

The work model for the role is: hybrid #LI-hybrid
You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Managing projects in accordance with the ABB R&D gate model, and report progress in dedicated tools (like NORRD and Planisware).
  • Ensuring the quality and timely completion of projects within the targeted cost, while coordinating with customer pilot projects and other modernization initiatives.
  • Contributing to technical analysis, decision-making, and implementation in modernization projects, leveraging extensive technical skills in the portfolio and its applications.
  • Performing project peer reviews and design verifications in line with applicable standards and engineering guidelines, ensuring documentation complies with established processes.

Qualifications for the role

  • You hold a master’s degree in electrical engineering, information technology, or an equivalent qualification.
  • You have at least eight years of experience working in an industrial environment, such as the power and energy sector.
  • You possess sound knowledge of R&D project leadership and applications related to medium-voltage drives.
  • You bring familiarity with medium-voltage drive control platforms.
  • You demonstrate proficient interdisciplinary leadership skills and thrive in cross-divisional collaboration setups, with effective stakeholder engagement across global and local teams.
  • You are solution-focused and have effective written and spoken communication skills in English; knowledge of German.
