Program Director

This position will be responsible for the oversight and support of The Villages’ Healthy Families program services; including developing strategies to promote consistent and effective program operations, establishing, and implementing best practice training in principles and procedures for Healthy Families services, and supervising and developing competencies of the Healthy Families team to continuously improve capabilities and performance. This role will be overseeing Hamilton, Hancock, Shelby, Decatur, and Johnson Counties.

The Program Director will:

  • Establish and implement best practice training in principles and procedures for Healthy Families services
  • Develop strategies to promote consistent and effective support for the Healthy Family program
  • Keep abreast of changes in state and national accreditation regulations and distributes those changes promptly
  • Develop program and financial partnerships with community agencies/resources for support of the program
  • Prepare and analyze reports as required for funders, accreditation, local partners, and agency management staff
  • Coordinate and facilitate staff and committee meetings
  • Conduct interviewing, hiring, and evaluation process

Position Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in early childhood, public health or human services administration or fields related to working with children and families
    • (OR) Bachelor’s Degree in these fields with 3 years of relevant experience
    • (OR) Less than Bachelor's Degree with commensurate Healthy Families America experience
  • Experience in providing culturally sensitive supervision to diverse staff with humility
  • Administrative experience in Human Services or related field including experience in Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in the accreditation process of Healthy Family Programs
  • Familiarity with community agencies
  • Experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities, families and staff
  • Knowledge of maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect
  • Infant Mental Health Endorsement (Level I or II)
  • Experience with family services that embrace the concepts of family-centered and strength-based service provisions
  • Willingness to engage in reflective practice (Capacity for introspection, communicating awareness of self in relation to others, recognizing value of supervision, etc...)

Skills Required

  • Master's degree in early childhood, public health, human services administration, or a related field focused on children and families
