As a Program Director at Civica Australia, you are accountable for the successful delivery of complex, multi‑project software programs that drive customer and business value. You oversee interrelated client-facing projects, lead and develop Project Managers, and ensure alignment across scope, timelines, resources, and outcomes.

This role offers ownership of high‑impact programs that directly support public sector organisations and the citizens they serve. You lead large, complex initiatives end‑to‑end, influencing outcomes at both customer and enterprise level.

You work in a collaborative, global environment where strong leadership, commercial thinking, and delivery excellence are valued and recognised. The role provides exposure to executive stakeholders, meaningful decision‑making authority, and the opportunity to shape delivery standards and program controls.


Requirements
  • Extensive experience delivering enterprise client-facing programs for a software company
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with experience communicating at executive level
  • Strong program governance skills, including establishment of controls, reporting, and delivery frameworks
  • Strong leadership skills, directly managing Project Managers  and proven ability to inspire teams to the best outcome
  • Advanced financial and resource management capability, including budgeting and cost control across programs
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk, issues, dependencies, and competing priorities across a portfolio
  • Sound commercial acumen, including contract management and identification of commercial opportunities
  • Strong change management capability, leading teams through ambiguity and transformation
  • Highly organised approach with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Program or project management certification and degree qualification, or equivalent experience
  • Experience within government and professional services environments
  • Melbourne based with the ability to work in a hybrid working environment
  • Proficiency in report writing and use of Microsoft productivity tools
