Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Program Claims Manager that can do a 2-day hybrid approach in one of our offices. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. 

Summary Statement

Reports to the AVP, Auto & General Liability Claims and is responsible for leading a team of claim handlers assigned to Programs Auto and General Liability claims. Provides day-to-day management, technical oversight, workload direction, coaching, and performance accountability to ensure timely, accurate, and customer-focused claim outcomes. Partners closely with Amerisure Program (AMP) underwriting, Managing General Agencies (MGAs), agents, insureds, and internal claims leadership to align claim handling with program expectations, service commitments, and department goals. May also be responsible for coordinating and monitoring service delivery for program claims across all lines of business, including workers compensation, property, auto, and general liability, to ensure consistent execution and stakeholder satisfaction.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties

  • Manage, train, provide performance feedback and assign duties of direct reports to ensure productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Manage a team of claim handlers responsible for Programs Auto and General Liability claims, including workload distribution, claim quality, performance expectations, coaching, and development.
  • Provides technical claim direction and oversight on auto and general liability matters, ensuring adherence to claim standards, coverage analysis, reserving practices, litigation management, negotiation strategy, and timely resolution.
  • Serves as a key relationship and service-delivery contact for Programs underwriting, MGAs, agents, insureds, and internal stakeholders, ensuring responsive communication and alignment with program-specific expectations.
  • Partners with claims leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure claim handling strategies support program objectives, customer commitments, operational consistency, and department goals.
  • Monitors claim metrics, service performance, inventory movement, severity trends, compliance indicators, and other KPIs to identify opportunities for improvement and drive accountability.
  • Provides training, mentoring, and performance feedback to claim handlers to strengthen technical capability, promote best practices, and support professional development.
  • May provide oversight or coordination of program claim service delivery for workers compensation, property, and other lines of business to ensure consistency with program commitments and stakeholder expectations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 7 years of progressive commercial claims experience, including significant auto and general liability claim handling experience; multi-line claims experience preferred.
  • Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Industry accreditation preferred (AIC, SCLA, CPCU, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within the department, across the organization, and with external customers.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auto and general liability coverage, liability investigation, damages evaluation, reserving, litigation management, negotiation, and claim resolution practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage claim quality, inventory, service expectations, and performance outcomes in a team environment.
  • Results-driven mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical claim oversight, service delivery, and operational priorities.
  • Flexible and adaptable to evolving program needs, changing claim volumes, and shifting business priorities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain claim trends, service results, and technical matters to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Seven years of progressive commercial claims experience
  • Significant auto and general liability claim handling experience
  • Leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
