POSITION OVERVIEW
Global Atlantic Financial Company (a subsidiary of Global Atlantic Financial Group Limited) is seeking a candidate for the position of Program Analyst, Institutional Markets. Responsibilities include:
- Perform liability modeling in RNA Analytics for reinsurance deal pricing and financial analysis.
- Reconcile model output, including single cell analysis, against other sources, such as appraisal projections (from MG-ALFA or PolySystems) or the output of Experience Studies model.
- Help with identifying risks embedded in different liabilities by stressing insurance and liability assumptions.
- Conduct static and dynamic validations.
- Assist with development of deal models under stat and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) frameworks.
- Assist in experience studies for reinsurance pricing and performance monitoring.
- Collaborate both within the Institutional business, as well as with other areas such as Risk, Actuarial, Finance, and Investments as regular part of the job duties.
- 40 hours/wk; Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm; The expected annual base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $140,000.12
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Financial Actuarial Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related analytical field.
- Two (2) years of relevant experience in finance or insurance.
- Two (2) years of experience must include:
- Modeling experience in any quantitative setting.
- Performing statistical analysis of internal liability data using Excel and tools such as SQL.
- Developing actuarial models using actuarial modeling software to project liability cashflows for reinsurance or insurance deals.
- Performing sensitivity testing on actuarial assumptions to measure risk exposures to insurance risks such as mortality risk and lapse risk.
- Assisting in writing actuarial documentations such as assumption memos or investment memos.
