Position Description:

The Department of Oral Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Louisville (https://dentistry.louisville.edu/about/leadership-organization/departments/oral-immunology-infectious-diseases) invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The department comprises investigators focused on microbial pathogenicity, innate immunity and inflammation, and we are looking for applicants interested in fundamental disease mechanisms and host responses. 


Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate at the Associate or Full Professor level will have an outstanding record of innovative, well-funded research and will be expected to maintain a strong extramurally funded research program.  At the Assistant professor level, the successful candidate will have a strong publication record and the potential to obtain independent funding. 


The selected individual will have primary responsibilities in maintaining or establishing an extramurally funded research program in oral microbiology or immunology and contribute to the teaching of graduate students and residents.


Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD, DDS/DMD, MD or related terminal degree
  • Experience in oral microbiology or immunology research
