Job Summary

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Willsboro, NY

Shift: First OR Second shift available

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor ensures production activities are completed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner for Mill. Takes a lead role in leading production crews in completing jobs/tasks. Directs the work of production crews. Conducts root cause analysis; Works with a team of engineers, maintenance and operating personnel to improve throughput, reduce cost, increase efficiency and quality, reduce waste or non-productive time. Provides a systematic approach to business improvement.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, Supervise, and ensure execution of all the production activities of the plant in Willsboro

  • Fully supports location health, safety, environmental and quality programs by participating in their implementation, maintenance and enforcement as well as compliance with corporate programs and policies.

  • Coach and/or hold employees accountable immediately when you see those not meeting requirements.

  • Recognize and celebrate employee efforts and successes.

  • Ensure incident investigation and root-cause because analysis is conducted whenever an incident occurs. Ensure the incident report is completed immediately and action items are addressed in a timely manner. Review the accident site and meet with people involved.

  • Lead efforts in fostering a team environment within the production staff.

  • Ensure production timely collection of production data to ensure equipment is operating efficiently

  • Effectively communicate expectations and provide feedback to employees regarding performance in safety, quality, and product delivery.

  • Manage production schedule and organize available resources to fulfill customer needs.

  • Partner with site Maintenance organization to effectively and proactively improve up-time, reduce unplanned repairs, minimize ‘run-to-fail’ activities.

  • Liaise with Packaging & Shipping to ensure product is available for on-time shipment.

  • Provide front line process technical expertise / problem solving and hands-on process assistance to the production staff to drive continuous improvement. 

  • Ensure all processes and work activities are fully compliant with regulatory and corporate policy – that operators are well-trained and executing requirements.

  • Communicate with Customer Service regarding customer demand and issues that may arise impacting production. 

  • Establish, implement and communicate KPIs to effectively drive all of the above-mentioned activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Skills and Attributes Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships (engaging and forthright) with subordinates so that the team adopts the efforts to achieve the established targets – Adept at Change Management

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven problem solving skills (process, mechanical, and people) to identify opportunities for improvement and develop then implement resolution to the point the issue is eliminated 

  • Demonstrated sense of ownership to the point that constraints are eliminated rather than accepted - Comfortable challenging the status quo. 

  • Demonstrated success in preparing and presenting improvement proposals with appropriate justification 

  • Ability to further develop subordinates by identifying and fostering growth environment

  • Excellent multi-tasking skills with proven computer skills to enhance ability to effective

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment

  • Leadership experience

Compensation Range: $70,000 - 85,000 base salary. Your starting salary within this range will be based on your specific qualifications, relevant experience, and overall background.
