We are seeking a hands‑on, process‑driven Production Supervisor to lead riveting and brake shoe remanufacturing operations. This leader builds a cooperative team culture, ensures strict adherence to standard work, and drives safe, cost‑effective, high‑quality production. The role requires strong floor presence, disciplined execution, and accurate production reporting through MES/SAP.
You will oversee daily production activities, optimize equipment performance, and collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Materials to deliver the highest OTIF performance.
Shift hours: Monday - Thursday (6:00am-4:30pm)
Salary range is CAD$60,000-75,000 annually.
Principle Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise ~11 employees and foster a cooperative, accountable team environment.
- Train operators on riveting procedures, brake shoe remanufacturing methods, safety, quality, and problem‑solving.
- Reinforce process discipline and standard work across all shifts.
Production Execution
- Oversee daily riveting and brake shoe production to meet schedule commitments and OTIF targets.
- Maintain strong floor presence to monitor workflow, verify process adherence, and resolve issues quickly.
- Record production accurately through MES/SAP, including output, downtime, scrap, and material usage.
- Maintain daily production output and quality reports for corporate transmission.
Quality, Safety & Process Control
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality requirements.
- Verify product quality through dimensional checks, riveting integrity, and process material testing.
- Enforce material‑use policies and proper handling of cores, rivets, adhesives, and consumables.
Equipment Reliability & Maintenance
- Resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance issues to minimize downtime and cost.
- Lead and support preventative maintenance activities and machine reliability improvements.
- Perform trial runs and prototype modifications for riveting and brake lining equipment.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Materials to ensure smooth production flow.
- Work with Planning to align schedules, resolve constraints, and optimize throughput.
- Maintain inventory of essential production tools and support materials.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements in workflow, equipment performance, material usage, and process discipline.
- Drive initiatives that reduce scrap, improve cycle times, and enhance OTIF performance
Competencies/Education/Experience
- 6+ years operating or supervising mechanical assembly equipment.
- Demonstrated leadership in production or maintenance environments.
- Experience with machine reliability, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical devices.
- Pneumatic/hydraulic maintenance experience is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with MES/SAP preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of chemical handling and process control is desirable.
