Job Responsibilities:

Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000

General Responsibilities:

  • Work with scheduling and production management to set daily production priorities.
  • Ensure that established OEE quality/availability/performance standards are communicated and achieved within the department.
  • Ensure that safety standards are identified, communicated and achieved within the department.
  • Where an established OEE or safety standard is not being met, identify the root cause and take the appropriate action.
  • Ensure that operators use standard work and associated tools to meet standards.
  • Maintain 5-S standards and measures within the department.
  • Conduct team meetings with departmental employees covering current OEE, product, quality and safety information.
  • Coordination of employee orientation and training within the department.
  • Initiate employee counseling and disciplinary action.
  • Maintain close communication and coordination with other production departments and shifts to ensure priorities are met.
  • Maintain communication with other non-production departments within the company.
  • Ensure that training requirements for each departmental employee are identified, and plans are in place to close gaps.
  • Ensure that environmental standards are identified, communicated and enforced within the department.
  • Perform a minimum of one yearly performance evaluation for each departmental employee.
  • Ensure the fair administration of all company policies including wage and benefit packages.
  • Provide support for business systems goals, ensuring that all applicable requirements are met.
  • Provide support for the continuous improvement initiatives within Techform.
  • Provide support in the attainment of Techform’ s "Quality Operating System" goals as outlined be the key graphs.
  • Carry out all duties focusing on the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Conducts planned workplace inspections.
  • Seeks out and corrects acts or conditions, ensuring all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
  • Review and adhere to Techform’ s health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.
  • Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects or non-compliance issues.
  • Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
  • Involvement in the accident/incident program, determine root causes, correct action and following up to ensure completion.
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent is an asset
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of the occupational health and safety act
  • A minimum of three (3) years, preferably in a team lead role, is desirable
