Overview

The Production Supervisor is entrusted with serving our Frontline Team Members and delivering the daily operational commitments of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost for their area of responsibility. As a Production Supervisor, you will provide exceptional leadership and service to our Frontline by fostering an environment of excellence in our key metrics, and development of your team members to overserve the needs of our customers. The successful candidate will have demonstrated superior leadership capabilities, daily management execution and a strong track record of build trust through meeting or surpassing their commitments.

Responsibilities

SAFETY

  • Champions a zero-injury culture by proactively working with the Frontline Team to identify and deliver solutions to eliminate risks.
  • Is steadfast in holding all Team Members accountable to the Safety practices and policies of the facility, including but not limited to wearing the appropriate PPE, LOTO procedures, etc.

 FRONTLINE OBSESSION

  • Lead, inspire, and mentor Frontline Team Members to understand the Mission of Porex, and connect the dots on how the Frontline Team makes the world safer, healthier, and more productive.
  • Serves the Frontline Team by regularly seeking their feedback in terms of process challenges and improvements and ensures that everyone has the tools and resources needed to deliver their goals.
  • Regularly communicates in an open and transparent style with all Team Members to ensure understanding, as well as receive feedback from the Frontline.
  • Coaches and develops Team Members to get better everyday and grow their career with Porex.
  • Maintains a culture of winning by regularly recognizing Team Members that go above and beyond.
  • Sets and holds a high standard of excellence with the courage to hold Team Members accountable and correct problems as they arise.

 DAILY MANAGEMENT

  • Owns the execution of the business plan to deliver daily the Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost objectives, for their shift and Value Stream on a daily basis.
  • Understands the operational metrics and acts with a bias for action to address any deviation from the plan.
  • Ensure Team Members are trained to effectively perform their job tasks.

  LEAN AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT  

  • Monitors production processes to identify areas for improvement and partner with support group team members to implement.
  • Ensure that resources, equipment, and materials are effectively utilized to minimize waste and downtime.
  • Leads or participates in lean manufacturing initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 5 years of operations experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment; 10 or more years preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly or indirectly leading frontline team members in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated success improving operational performance through Lean Manufacturing methodologies, Daily Management practices, and related continuous-improvement tools.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment preferred.

 

Compensation / Benefits

Base Salary: 90K - 100K annually, exempt

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 5 years of operations experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
