Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson Vision, a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Production Supervisor located at its manufacturing site in Jacksonville, Florida

We are seeking a dynamic Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing activities and deliver safe, compliant, high-quality products on schedule and at the required cost. The ideal candidate will bring strong people leadership, operational discipline, and experience driving performance through effective resource coordination, team development, and continuous improvement. This role is pivotal in fostering an inclusive, accountable culture while partnering across functions to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee-engagement objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee-engagement objectives.
  • Plan production activities, establish priorities, assign resources, and adjust staffing or workflow to meet the production schedule.
  • Provide visible floor leadership by monitoring operations, resolving issues, and ensuring timely escalation of risks and constraints.
  • Coach and develop employees through clear expectations, regular feedback, recognition, performance management, and development planning.
  • Build an inclusive, accountable team culture that promotes collaboration, ownership, respectful communication, and adherence to company values.
  • Ensure compliance with approved procedures, GMP requirements, quality systems, environmental standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor operational performance using key metrics such as throughput, yield, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime, service, and inventory accuracy; implement corrective actions when results are off plan.
  • Investigate safety, quality, and operational issues; support nonconformance resolution, root-cause analysis, and effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, Planning, Human Resources, and other functions to resolve production constraints and support business priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean principles, standard work, visual management, waste reduction, and structured problem-solving.
  • Support new product introductions, process transfers, validation, equipment qualification, training, and change implementation activities.
  • Maintain accurate operational, training, attendance, performance, and compliance records, and communicate shift results, priorities, and risks to key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of manufacturing experience, including experience in a regulated environment.
  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Effective English communication and strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and applicable FDA requirements; familiarity with ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Ability to analyze production data, solve problems, make decisions, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong collaboration, conflict-resolution, delegation, and accountability skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP, MRP, or manufacturing systems preferred.
  • Ability to work the assigned shift and support operational needs as required.

Other:

  • Up to 50% travel in the first 6-9 months.
