About The Opportunity
Supervises the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function.Essential Job Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
- Implements operational strategies in assigned area(s) to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost, and profitability
- Accountable for assigned area’s key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies and provides guidance to production associates to ensure scorecard objectives are met
- Prepares for project runs following production schedule and reviews First Article (sample) ahead of time
- Assigns production lines to Line Leads ahead of time
- Provides information, documentation, and proper tools to the Line Lead to perform the job
- Communicates daily production goals to Line Leads such as the amount of finished goods, revenue expected, etc.
- Ensures line set-ups are done efficiently, Line Leads have the correct amount of people and every person is performing the right task as per specifications given
- Reviews rate data frequent and works with Line Leads adjust lines to maximize production efficiencies. Automates lines whenever possibly to increase profitability & efficiency
- Supports capacity planning process to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands
- Collaborates with cross-functional leaders to support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence
- Communicates with previous shift about any changes or updates before shift starts
- Maintains a safe work environment by educating and directing personnel on proper use of all equipment, with assistance of set up mechanics. Works together with Line Leads to make sure assembly lines are clean and organized at all times
- Reviews quality documentation to ensure its completed correctly and properly signed properly following GMPS & customer requirements
- Coordinates absent/vacation requests to ensure appropriate personnel coverage required to run production jobs
- Communicates any changes and updates to next shift
- Provides guidance on staffing, training, employee relations and performance management to develop and enhance production team, working closely with direct reports
- Responsible for working safely, following and complying with Company GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), and maintaining quality work and product
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft office and knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS) preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Ability to work under pressure and adjust to immediate changes
- Must have demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment
- Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must have knowledge of GMP policies and procedures
- Ability to be proactive in disciplinary processes
- Ability to keep a strong bridge of communication between Production and the Quality, Inventory, and Logistics departments
- Ability to address employee concerns in a professional manner
- Ability to work extended shifts and weekends as needed
- Must be available via email and phone 24/7
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift
- Ability to bend/stoop, squat, twist, push/pull, kneel and crouch repetitively
- Must be able to lift and carry 20lbs or more on a frequent basis
- Must be able to use your hands/fingers/arms in a repetitive motion for extended periods
- Occasional travel may be required
