Job Summary

Our Glens Falls, NY site is seeking a Manufacturing Area Supervisor that will lead multiple product lines and development products with catheter manufacturing operations.  The successful candidate will work directly with all levels of the organization. The primary responsibilities will be to ensure manufacturing demand/through-put is met for the products and each area is resourced for success.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating production staffing, equipment and other resources to effectively meet build plans
  • Leading Operators by establishing expectations, writing and delivering performance reviews, mentoring, and providing opportunities for growth
  • Developing relationships and working closely with manufacturing support associates (other leaders, engineers, QA, maintenance, HR, etc.)
  • Developing team goals that support broader business objectives
  • Developing manufacturing employees by creating opportunities for growth and development and providing feedback to teams and individuals regarding performance and opportunities for improvement
  • Participating in rewarding and recognizing individuals and teams for accomplishments
  • Resolving performance issues and conflict in a positive manner, utilizing all appropriate resources
  • Ensuring team compliance with safety, quality system, and regulatory requirements
  • Owning or supporting non-conformance resolutions (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs)
  • Managing Manufacturing Documentation and Change Control
  • Ensuring complete and accurate documentation of manufacturing paperwork and all materials are available and accurate
  • Partnering with training resources to ensure training needs are met and training is adequate, and training of associates as required.
  • Monitoring and communicating key performance metrics
  • Proactively monitoring and executing cost reduction and efficiency opportunities
  • Leading and teaching continuous-improvement efforts and tools to foster a lean manufacturing environment
  • Working with team in manufacturing areas
  • Assisting with support of research and development teams to ensure manufacturability of new processes, components, and products
  • Participating in hiring processes for the manufacturing team
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Applicable Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience in a medical device manufacturing assembly environment
  • Experience in designing processes for manufacturing
  • Preferred experience in lean manufacturing tools, 6S, one-piece flow, value stream mapping, etc.
  • Experience in a regulated medical device, ISO 13485, and FDA environment preferred.
  • Ability driving a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
  • Lean/Six Sigma certified
  • Computer skills required:
    • Windows operating system in a networked environment
    • Microsoft Office

Skills Required
