Production Planner
The production planner will be responsible for forecasting and communicating to meet customer requirements/demands while delivering historical data and forecasts to customers. Production planners maintain both thru internal Inventory process, thru ERP system, as well as any customer required portals/EDI’s. A production planner needs to have a strong professional level of communication, by systems such as IFS, Microsoft Excel, Office, Power Point. etc) and a strong delivery of customer service.
Performance Expectations
· Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department Key Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
· Support and maintain department lean initiatives.
· Maintain department 6S requirements.
· Receive and process customer demand.
· Communicate with Customers on potential impacts to production.
· Example: (short shipping, machine failure). Match IFS internal CUM numbers to the customer’s.
· Maintain Production planning file for Die Cast and Machining.
· Communicate with subcontractors on delivery schedule and production expectations.
· Inventory management: assist in maintaining / adjusting target inventory level for raw and finish goods products, cycle counting and physical inventory.
· Communicate inventory numbers, shipping schedules, and logistics actions/topics to internal teams. Daily presentation of this information at Fast Response meeting.
· Work with the Production, Tooling, and Shipping Departments to ensure On Time Delivery is met.
· Document and communicate the Production Score Card (Target Vs. Actual).
· Develop material flow documents to be used for the creation of SOPs
· Validate capacity for internal and external stakeholders.
· Forecast inventory and overtime requirements. Communicate to key stakeholders within the organization.
Credentials
· Completion of secondary school or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
· Ability to use computers and fluency in Microsoft Suite is essential, especially Microsoft Excel.
Desired Characteristics
· Excellent communication skills in order to discuss data with various leaders in the facility.
· Possess excellent analytical skills in order to collect data and develop statistical data.
· Expert Microsoft Excel user would be a plus.
· Clear communication both verbal and written.
