Production Planner
Huntsman is seeking a Production Planner supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Akron, Ohio. This position will report to the Supply Chain Manager.
Job ScopeThis position supports the Ashtabula, OH site and is responsible for developing and maintaining raw material and production plans that align operational activities with business objectives. The role works cross-functionally to balance production requirements, inventory levels, capacity constraints, and supply chain costs while ensuring reliable product availability and efficient inventory management.
In summary, as the Production Planner, you will:- Develop and maintain raw material and production plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage inventory levels within targeted ranges to optimize inventory performance and minimize excess.
- Monitor and analyze short- and long-term production capacities and material constraints.
- Respond to planning changes and communicate the operational and business impact to key stakeholders.
- Coordinate planning activities with regional supply planners, operations, and logistics teams.
- Track, analyze, and report key supply chain metrics including OTIF, DIO, and SLOB.
- Support continuous alignment across supply chain functions to ensure efficient execution of planning activities.
- Participate in Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives and comply with all company-required training programs.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in supply chain planning, production planning, inventory management, or a related supply chain function.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and best practices.
- Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Knowledge of SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) and IBP (Integrated Business Planning) processes.
- APICS certification.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations within a chemical, industrial, or related production environment.
- Experience tracking and reporting supply chain KPIs such as OTIF, DIO, and SLOB.
- Regular presence at the workplace is required to support planning and operational activities.
- Ability to work additional hours when needed to support production requirements and business needs.
- Work in a collaborative manufacturing and supply chain environment with frequent interaction across operations, logistics, procurement, and planning teams.
