Job Title: Production Planner/ Scheduler

Job Category: Full-Time, Hourly

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Position Summary

The Production Planner/ Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing daily and weekly production schedules that translate the master production plan into achievable manufacturing priorities. This position evaluates customer requirements, material availability, labor and capacity constraints, work-in-process, and production readiness to establish schedules that support efficient vehicle flow and on-time completion.

Working closely with the Master Scheduler and cross-functional partners, the Production Planner/ Scheduler monitors schedule performance, identifies risks and constraints, and adjusts priorities as operating conditions change. This role requires strong manufacturing judgment, analytical capability, and the ability to influence execution across departments to keep the production schedule accurate, realistic, and aligned with business priorities.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute daily and weekly production schedules in alignment with the master production plan, customer requirements, available capacity, material readiness, and operational priorities.
  • Evaluate labor availability, production capacity, material constraints, work-in-process, and other manufacturing dependencies when sequencing and prioritizing scheduled work.
  • Monitor vehicle and work-order progression throughout production; identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and potential delays before they impact committed completion dates.
  • Adjust production schedules and priorities in response to material shortages, quality issues, engineering changes, equipment downtime, capacity constraints, or changing business requirements.
  • Develop and communicate recovery priorities for delayed or at-risk work in coordination with the Master Scheduler and manufacturing leadership.
  • Partner with Production, Materials, Production Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, and other functions to resolve constraints affecting schedule execution.
  • Review material availability and production readiness to confirm scheduled work can be executed and proactively escalate shortages or dependencies requiring resolution.
  • Maintain accurate production schedules, work-order status, completion dates, and related planning data within the ERP/MRP system and supporting planning tools.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, WIP, production performance, and completion status; analyze variances and communicate risks, impacts, and required actions to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Participate in daily production and planning meetings, providing clear schedule status, priorities, constraints, and recommended adjustments to support operational decision-making.
  • Support capacity planning, workload balancing, and production sequencing to improve manufacturing flow, resource utilization, and on-time completion.
  • Analyze scheduling and production data to identify recurring constraints, schedule instability, and opportunities to improve planning accuracy and manufacturing performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling processes, ERP/MRP data integrity, production flow, schedule adherence, and cross-functional planning.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
