Production Manager
Position Summary
The Production Manager leads manufacturing operations through a team of 4 Production Supervisors overseeing approximately 60–80 employees. This role is responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and manufacturing specifications.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop Production Supervisors and production teams.
- Manage daily manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
- Oversee hiring, training, performance management, employee development, and corrective actions.
- Plan and direct work activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, safety, manufacturing accuracy, material usage, scrap, and labor efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and operating procedures.
- Partner with Scheduling, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, HR, and other departments to resolve issues and improve performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including managing supervisors and large production teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Experience using production metrics and KPIs to drive operational performance.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
