Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of all production show elements onboard, including lighting, audio, video, automation and rigging, scenery, performer flying, and rehearsals for production shows, live musicians, and guest entertainers.
- Oversee day-to-day operations in multiple state-of-the-art venues, ensuring all technical systems, set pieces, costumes, and show assets are show-ready, safe, and presented to Princess brand standards.
- Show-call and coordinate all technical and stage-management requirements for a portfolio of original production shows and fly-on guest acts, ensuring seamless execution and an outstanding guest experience every performance.
- Lead, coach, and develop a diverse team of up to 20 production staff, technicians, and assistant managers, setting clear expectations, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Plan and manage production schedules, rehearsals, changeovers, and maintenance windows to maximize venue utilization while protecting show quality and minimizing disruption to guests.
- Own production department safety across all indoor and outdoor entertainment venues, ensuring strict adherence to company safety policies, performer flying protocols, and relevant maritime and regulatory standards.
- Conduct and maintain risk assessments for all production activities, and oversee chemical handling, inventory management, and equipment checks in line with Company and Public Health requirements.
- Partner closely with Entertainment, Technical, Hotel, and Shoreside teams to coordinate new show installs, technical upgrades, visiting acts, and special events.
- Monitor technical performance, guest feedback, and incident reports, taking proactive action to resolve issues, improve reliability, and continuously enhance the onboard entertainment product.
- Act as a visible production leader onboard, role-modelling Princess values, championing Service Excellence, and supporting assigned emergency duties as part of the ship’s safety organization.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Significant professional experience in theatre, live events, cruise ship entertainment, or a comparable environment, with a strong track record in stage management and/or technical direction for large-scale productions.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Theatre, Technical Production, Stage Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of entertainment technical systems, including lighting, audio, video, show control, automation/rigging, and performer flying operations.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary technical and production teams, including recruitment, coaching, performance feedback, and development.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple shows, rehearsals, and maintenance activities in a fast-paced, shipboard environment.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and risk management principles in a theatrical or live event setting, with experience conducting risk assessments and implementing safe working practices.
- Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written English, able to give clear instructions, brief performers and technicians, and collaborate effectively with shoreside partners and onboard leadership.
- Guest-focused mindset, with a passion for delivering consistently high production values and memorable entertainment experiences.
- Ability to remain calm, solutions-focused, and decisive under pressure, using sound judgment to resolve technical or operational issues quickly.
- Culturally aware, inclusive leadership style with the ability to build strong working relationships and motivate a diverse, multinational team.

Skills Required
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Theatre with major studies in Stage Management and/or Technical Direction or a minimum of 3 years' professional experience in theatre or live event industries
- Good understanding of entertainment technical systems (lighting, sound, video, automation/rigging, performer flying)
