Purpose Statement: The Production Manager is responsible for the day to day leadership of Factory Supervisors within a specific market sector. The position has an intense focus on product quality, on time delivery, and factory production efficiency. Additionally, the Production Manager provides the vision to develop and execute the following: continuous improvement initiatives, operational planning, product quality assurance, staff management/development, customer satisfaction and effective communication both within the focus factory and with site associates/management.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Execution of Production Schedules to Meet KPIs. Provide effective leadership to the manufacturing team to ensure implementation of strategies for manufacturing metrics, i.e. OTD, scrap reduction, yield, productivity and inventory. Participate in Operation Review meeting.
- Planning & Management of Resources. Develop and retain a multi-level results-focused team. Drive engagement and monitor operators' performance including taking the disciplinary actions. Drive cross training of manufacturing teams to ensure maximum labor flexibility and efficiency
- Ensure Compliance to Customer Requirements and Plexus Standards. Lead and drive RCCA for “why made” of defect/reject produced by his/her team. Drive customer service excellence culture within areas of control. Ensure RBA compliance and work place health and safety issues
- Continuous Improvement and LEAN. Sponsor and drive implementation of programs that improve labor efficiency, on time delivery, continuous quality improvement, and other corporate or customer requirements in alignment with established metrics. Drive for layout and 6S improvement plan, GEMBA tours, and waste reduction activities. Lead and drive the LEAN projects
- Contingency Planning & Management. Provide guidance and solutions to more complex manufacturing issues. Effectively manage and control direct labor staffing levels in order to achieve site LCM forecast. Communicate program contributions, OTD, continuous improvement efforts and manufacturing issues and needs and develop contingency plans for improvement
- Responsible to exemplify and hold their team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values. Leader will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
Education/Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 5 or more years of related experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
- Technical expertise in PCB Assembly process, SMT, RoHS Assembly, Mechanical Assembly, Lean Manufacturing, IPC Standards, and Quality Systems required.
