We’re looking for a dynamic Production Manager to join our team and lead the production operation at our Kansas facility. About the Role:

As Production Manager, you’ll lead and coordinate all production departments to ensure materials are processed and products are manufactured to meet Kustom’s high standards and customer expectations. You’ll work closely with quality assurance, engineering, and maintenance teams to deliver on production goals while driving innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Direct and oversee all production activities across multiple departments
  • Motivate, train, and mentor your team to meet and exceed production targets
  • Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors and submit bi-weekly reports to Operations Manager
  • Interview, hire, and manage employee performance in line with company policies

Production Management:

  • Study schedules and allocate labor efficiently to meet capacity needs
  • Ensure product quality through inspections and adherence to specifications
  • Recommend improvements to methods, equipment, and processes
  • Coordinate customer service repair units into the production flow when needed
  • Monitor part shortages, equipment issues, and documentation gaps and adjust schedules accordingly

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Partner with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams to implement process enhancements
  • Collaborate on workflow design and the selection of new tools and equipment
  • Ensure alignment between Operational Services and internal/external customer demand

Safety & Housekeeping:

  • Promote and enforce safety protocols throughout production areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization to support a safe, efficient workplace

Administrative Duties:

  • Authorize production tool and equipment purchases
  • Participate in executive staff meetings and lead internal production communications

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in a Windows-based environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Data-driven decision-making with the ability to draw valid conclusions quickly
  • Flexible and adaptable in response to schedule changes, supply challenges, or staffing needs
  • Confident working with senior leadership and cross-functional teams

Education & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • 5–7 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment

Physical & Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit; occasionally required to walk, stand, stoop, or lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable with multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and technical documents
  • Must remain composed in high-stress situations and prioritize effectively

Work Environment:

Quiet, climate-controlled office and production setting

Travel:

Occasional travel as needed based on business demands
