Job Purpose

As a Production Manager at Haworth Portugal, you will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to the local production members and facilitate achieving the level of excellence required to meet the local goals, aligned with the organization objectives. This includes driving and maintaining best in class levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost performance. You will have the opportunity to engage, hands-on, in challenging projects that will shape the operations and teams in the years to come.

A glimpse of your daily mission

  • Implement work policies that maximize agility, flexibility, and efficiency without compromising quality, safety, or integrity.

  • Identify, plan, and deploy projects that support the local manufacturing strategy.

  • Work with management to oversee the preparation of local investment plans.

  • Oversee and direct the activities of continuous improvement in accordance with HMS policies and targets.

  • Assure health and safety guidelines, by developing a strong culture based on risk identification and mitigation.

  • Evaluate and manage opportunities to develop the teams under your responsibility, facilitating high member engagement and commitment.

  • Positively solve daily issues and/or overcome obstacles, always in a perspective of continuous improvement.

  • Oversee the activities of raw materials warehouse and items flow to ensure reliable and accurate inventory in the plant.

Your Qualifications

  • Industrial Engineering or similar degree with an emphasis in manufacturing, or equivalent is desired.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, focused on achieving results with creative solutions and development of teams and members.

  • Full working knowledge of Lean Concepts with demonstrated success in deploying continuous improvement projects.

  • Minimum 5-year manufacturing background experience with 3-year in production management roles.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems preferably MS Dynamics or SAP and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Skills Required

  • Industrial Engineering or similar degree
