The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing warehouse and production operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate handling of building materials. This role leads operational planning, staffing, logistics coordination, facility management, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting high standards of safety, customer service, and operational performance.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee departmental budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and training for warehouse and supervisory personnel.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Sales, and Operations teams to support warehouse activities and delivery scheduling.
- Monitor and improve warehouse conditions, equipment maintenance, vehicle fleet operations, and facility layout efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and enforce standard and emergency operating procedures related to storage, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Resolve customer and shipper inquiries while tracking deliveries and expediting orders when necessary.
- Analyze distribution networks and operational workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service levels.
- Negotiate vendor contracts and collaborate with senior leadership on operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead workplace safety efforts and ensure compliance with company policies, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support operational excellence through process improvement, inventory management, and team development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field preferred.
- Two or more years of management experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
