Job Summary: The Production Manager handles strategic activities and vision of a high functioning area in terms of performance and productivity. Develop and implements improvements in production methods. Participates in budget preparation for production expenses and capital investment requests. Administers company policies in assigned department.

Essential Responsibilities/Activities:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS degree in Production Management, Operations, or related field OR 6 to 8 years’ experience in manufacturing, production, supply chain, or related area.
  • Prior work experience with Lean Manufacturing processes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven work experience as a plant manager, or equivalent
  • Proven managerial experience
  • Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job the employee will work in a manufacturing facility and regularly be exposed to:

  • Humidity, loud noises, dirt
  • Varying temperatures
  • Sheet Metal
  • Forklift traffic
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand comfortably for prolonged periods of time, as much as 95% of the workday.
  • Climbing
  • Stooping
  • Ability for occasional travel as the job may require visiting customers and project sites.
