Summary/Objective:
The Production Manager reports to the Plant Manager and oversees the manufacturing process. The position works closely also with their direct report supervisors and other maintenance staff to plan work, set targets, make finished products meet quality standards, and ensuring production lines run smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Functions:
- Direct oversight and responsibility of shift supervisors (3).
- Plan out production for all lines of products.
- Set up individual lines with appropriate orders in the most economical sequence.
- Maintain open communication with customer service and QC to ensure any changes to work orders are updated with ease.
- Confirm samples are produced to customers’ specifications and packed properly for shipping.
- Oversee and track work hours and performance issues of direct reports.
- Ensure leadership coverage across all shifts.
- Coordinate staffing levels and personnel assignments to maintain adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
- Maintain and update any existing production systems.
- Oversee the monitoring and reporting of moldy or damaged inventory (with proof of pictures and/or video).
- Participate in the interview process for select roles.
- Oversee the maintaining list of trim, non-unitized inventory.
- Assist in making in-house labels for production, when needed.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other health and safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Other duties assigned as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience of 5 or more years required.
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, project and time management skills.
- Strong decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with sustained focus, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and lead by example.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey instructions, expectations, and information.
- Able to meet deadlines and willingness to work flexibly.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods, frequent use of hands and arms, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 pounds in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
- Proficient in general computer applications and ERP systems.
- Ability to comply with all safety, GMP, and company policies and procedures.
