Position Summary:
The Production Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing production processes. This role is responsible for managing production timelines, ensuring quality standards are met, and optimizing efficiency across production operations. The Production Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, Technical Design, and Global Sourcing, to deliver high-quality product on time and on budget.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Production System Maintenance: Update factory dates and ship modes, and communicate all pertinent information to Sales and Logistics
  • Team Communication: Organize weekly meetings with Sales to review production status and outstanding issues
  • Purchase Orders: Issue and maintain purchase orders according to seasonal calendar; capture approved changes in price or delivery
  • Manufacturing Oversight: Track the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with purchase order requirements
  • Global Coordination: Daily communication with overseas offices to monitor pre-production and production delivery issues, resolving issues to ensure on-time bulk deliveries
  • Time Action Calendar Management: Manage and analyze calendar issues to maintain production flow
  • Work-in-Process (WIP) Monitoring: Request and review weekly WIP reports from all vendors to confirm adherence to ship dates
  • Management Updates: Provide daily updates to management on all outstanding and new production/logistics issues
  • Sample Review & Coordination: Review pre-production, top-of-production, and shipment samples; coordinate sample development to ensure timely delivery
  • Compliance & Quality: Provide vendors with company and retailer lab testing requirements, special compliance requirements, and packaging standards

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or equivalent fashion background
  • 5+ years of apparel production experience
  • Prior experience in sportswear/outerwear categories preferred
  • Strong cost negotiation skills and knowledge of cost breakdown
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with Product Development, Merchandising, Design, and overseas production teams
  • Strong Excel skills and follow-up capability

Salary Range: $75,000 -- $85,000 per year
