Assumes responsibility for budgets, schedules, performance standards, costs, methods, operations, and quality of production. Following production and company objectives directs subordinate supervisors. Coordinates activities of all operating departments to ensure facilities are operating within plan, budget, philosophy and objectives and is meeting established commitments.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Initiates and directs the development of and adherence to safety practices and procedures and assumes ultimate responsibility for environmental regulations, plant housekeeping and safety.
  • Demonstrates leadership and judgment consistent with company philosophy, goals and objectives.
  • Interprets and applies company policies and procedures, and ensures that established policies, rules, regulations and procedures are followed.
  • Monitors actual versus planned performance of manufacturing departments; pursues and implements remedies to problems. Assumes ultimate responsibility for the quality of product and quality of the workplace.
  • Plans and coordinates work, trains, and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of subordinate managers/supervisors, counsels, records and disciplines as necessary. Establishes goals and objectives in alignment of company and business unit objectives. Monitors progress and provides guidance as needed.
  • Responsible for budgets and business planning and establishing and meeting departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with Senior Management and Supervisors to develop and implement and execute budget and business plans.
  • Directs production activities to meet sales objectives at maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
  • Works closely with and seeks counsel of staff and line management in accomplishing all plant objectives.
  • Develops plans for efficient use of material, machines and employees.
  • Reviews production costs and production quality and modifies production and inventory control program to maintain and enhance profitable operations.
  • Establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in alignment of cost control, quality, safety and housekeeping policies.
  • Key driver of operational optimization through clear goal development and KPI implementation.
  • Develops strategic plans for the advancement of production requirements and new technology implementation.
  • Responsible for oversight of capital projects within the manufacturing arena.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages Extrusion / Production operations, Warehouse, and Purchasing. Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:

  • 10 years of operational and manufacturing leadership experience, ideally within medical devices or a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field required
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical information, operational KPIs, and production metrics.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, dynamic environment and navigate multiple competing priorities.
