In this role, you will be responsible for:
Operational Leadership & Control -
  • Oversee daily triparty repo funding, settlements, and collateral substitutions across BNY Mellon.
  • Manage intraday funding priorities, exception queues, and cutoffs to ensure zero fail culture and optimal use of collateral.
  • Own operational risk controls: reconciliations, break management, post-trade validation, cash/position substantiation, and settlement controls.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex breaks, collateral misallocations, eligibility issues, and agent platform discrepancies.
  • Maintain and enhance SOPs, desktop procedures, and control testing; support RCSA/ICFR/SOX evidence and audit readiness.
People Management -
  • Help in leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Rebuild institutional knowledge via structured training, mentoring, and cross-training programs; reduce key-person risk.
Change, Projects, and Strategy -
  • Drive triparty initiatives (e.g., automation, new products/clients, eligibility rule enhancements, GC vs. specials optimization).
  • Partner with Product/FO/Tech to define requirements, prioritize backlog, and execute UAT for platform upgrades and interfaces.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and continuous improvements.
  • Contribute to the future-state operating model, shift coverage, and resiliency planning.
Stakeholder & External Management -
  • Act as key liaison with Front Office, Treasury, Collateral Optimization, Market Risk, Credit Risk, and Middle Office.
  • Manage service with triparty agents (SLAs, issue logs, service reviews) and ensure alignment on eligibility, haircuts, and settlement windows.
  • Communicate status, risks, and metrics to senior leadership; prepare governance materials and incident post-mortems.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Institutional Investment Operations experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Deep knowledge of triparty repo operations, including agent platforms (e.g., BNY Mellon, JPMorgan, Euroclear) and collateral allocation mechanics.
  • Experience managing funding, liquidity, or collateral operations within a large financial institution, ideally with exposure to front-to-back repo workflows.
  • Strong people-leadership skills, including coaching, workload management, and the ability to guide a high-volume, high-risk operations team.
  • Expertise in operational risk and control frameworks, including break resolution, settlement controls, governance standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally with Front Office, Technology, Product, Risk, and Middle Office teams to drive initiatives and resolve escalations.
  • Project management and change-management experience, especially supporting system upgrades, UAT testing, automation efforts, or new triparty funding initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex issues under time pressure and provide clear direction.
  • Proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
  • Familiarity with collateral/funding tools (e.g., tri-party portals, OMS/EMS, settlement systems).
Job Expectations:
