Job Summary

Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking to recruit a Production Line Supervisor to oversee daily operations on assigned production lines within a soap and detergents manufacturing facility. The Production Line Supervisor will supervise line operators, ensure production targets are achieved, maintain quality and safety standards, resolve operational issues, and support continuous improvement to ensure efficient and uninterrupted production.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate line operators to achieve daily production targets.
  • Monitor production performance, including output, downtime, and waste, and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure production machinery operates efficiently and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Escalate major equipment malfunctions to the appropriate maintenance or engineering team.
  • Enforce compliance with GMP and quality control procedures.
  • Conduct regular product consistency checks, including weight, pH, and viscosity, and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams to address quality deviations and ensure defective batches are properly quarantined.
  • Maintain accurate batch records, line logs, and production checklists.
  • Ensure operators comply with PPE requirements and workplace safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and support hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Train new operators on equipment operation, safety procedures, and SOPs.
  • Assign duties, manage shift rotations, and ensure adequate staffing for production activities.
  • Prepare hourly, daily, and end-of-shift production reports.
  • Communicate material shortages, quality issues, and production delays promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to improve line efficiency, reduce waste, and increase production yield.
  • Participate in Lean and 5S initiatives and recommend process or equipment improvements.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably within FMCG, chemicals, soap, or detergents.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or team-lead role.
  • Hands-on experience with production line machinery such as mixers, conveyors, labeling, and packaging systems.
  • Understanding of batch processing, quality control, and workplace safety standards.
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques such as the 5 Whys.
  • OSHA, GMP, or Lean Manufacturing training/certification is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Good communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
