About the Role
The Production Coordinator is responsible for coordinating pump and valve repair projects from initial work order through production completion. This role works closely with mechanics, sales, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure repair projects are quoted, scheduled, and completed efficiently.
Responsibilities include coordinating parts sourcing, obtaining vendor quotes and lead times, purchasing approved materials, monitoring delivery schedules, and communicating project status to support on-time production and customer delivery. This position is primarily focused on production coordination and project execution, with purchasing and vendor management activities performed to support repair operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing logistical support for the PV Department.
- Responsible for reviewing repair work orders and coordinating material requirements for repair projects.
- Responsible for obtaining vendor pricing and lead times for parts required to support pump and valve repair projects.
- Responsible for documenting costs and delivery times on Production Orders.
- Responsible for creating Hitachi Pump and Motor Tech reports.
- Responsible for communicating with the sales team regarding quote requirements, parts availability, and repair status.
- Responsible for finalizing and entering quotes and coordinating with sales for customer proposals.
- Responsible for scheduling and rolling quotes to sales orders and due dates.
- Responsible for preparing preliminary quotes and parts estimates as needed.
- Responsible for purchasing approved materials and monitoring supplier delivery commitments.
- Responsible for tracking material lead times and communicating delays, schedule impacts, and changes to production, sales, and management teams.
- Responsible for coordinating material readiness to support production schedules and repair project completion.
- Responsible for closing out production orders.
- Responsible for bringing sales orders through completion with all required documentation and information.
- Responsible for communicating to shipping when completed units are ready for shipment.
- Responsible for assisting the General Manager with tracking parts, project status, and production priorities.
- Responsible for updating the WIP daily.
- Responsible for issuing stock items to production orders.
- Participate in daily production meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Production Planning, Scheduling, Production Coordination, Purchasing, or related experience.
- Familiar with purchasing, vendor quote processes, and inventory control functions.
- Experience obtaining vendor pricing, tracking lead times, and coordinating material procurement.
- Understanding of accounting/ERP software including PO/IC/AP/Job Costing (SAP Business One knowledge is a plus).
- Experience supporting production planning and scheduling activities.
- Professional level written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook (Access knowledge is a plus).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform occasional work on the shop floor.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing plant shop environment.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to elements such as odor, hydraulic fluids, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.
- Safety glasses required while performing specific tasks.
- Other PPE equipment as required.
- Employee works under typical office conditions, and the noise level is usually moderate.
Shift
- Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm
Pay
$32 - $35 Depending on experience
