Position Description:

The Production Control Specialist role is responsible for ensuring that all materials are moved and tracked for eventual issuance to production and/or engineering operations and/or to the next job location to meet published schedules.  Performs shop order and shipping support tasks in ERP.  Resolves potential problems to ensure material flow is not delayed. 

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor material pickup points, last activity locations, review router to determine where parts go to next, and ensure parts are delivered to appropriate locations.
  • Expedite material flow through the shop floor by working collaboratively with production, engineering and quality teams.
  • Effectively communicate the status of deliverables, actions, and issues to stakeholders in various forums.
  • Process shop order splits.
  • Assist in ERP data integrity endeavors.
  • Proactively participate in continuous improvement activities affecting the planning, procurement, build and test process.
  • Any additional tasks as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • HSD or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience with processing planning and/or movement of material within an ERP system required.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to get tasks accomplished on time.
  • Basic understanding of production flow, shipping/receiving operations, and/or stock room processes.
  • Organized, capable of multitasking and setting priorities.
  • Detail oriented with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

This position is located at our Black Mountain NC facility.  Relocation assistance is not available.
