As a Senior Technical Product Manager for the Data Platform team, you will coordinate internal efforts within the organization to improve the platform's technology and how it enables different teams. This will include understanding and maintaining an internal backlog of technology needs, planning how improvements will affect different teams, and communicating updates.

What will your journey at FLYR look like: (Responsibilities)

  • Set the vision and strategy for FLYR's core data platform within the context of the airline ecosystem and revenue performance
  • Develop a modern, scalable data platform that seamlessly delivers data-as-a-product, and data products to internal consumer teams
  • Work cross-functionally with data engineering, ML and data science to build scalable and reusable data pipelines across multiple data sources and enrichments that power critical downstream SaaS business applications & data-powered products. 
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for automation to drive faster data product delivery to customers and lower product Total Cost of Ownership.
  • Coordinate internal dependencies of tooling and pipelines
  • Socialize platform tools with internal teams
  • Define and evolve the product vision for FLYR's key data sources together with our product and engineering leadership team
  • Develop flexible and extensible data acquisition capabilities, enabling FLYR's products to acquire and leverage new and high-signal datasets (e.g. competitor fares data).
  • Own the roadmap, prioritize feature development, and coordinate across teams to achieve product adoption amongst data engineers, data scientists, ml engineers, and product managers.
  • Clearly communicate progress, requirements, and blockers in a cross-functional setting to avoid risks and dependencies

What you should pack for this trip: (Qualifications)

  • Experience successfully launching enterprise data platform products and capabilities
  • 5+ years in SaaS product management, ideally with a focus in data.
  • BA/BS degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Technical fluency in big data processing, cloud-based data management, and understanding data flows and pipelines.
  • Exceptional communication and listening skills, you break down problems and generate shared understanding across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to ruthlessly prioritize competing demands across multiple stakeholders.

Optional Carry-on: (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Hands-on data engineering experience.
  • A quantitative background with experience working with teams of data engineers, analysts and data scientists.
  • Enterprise software or airline related domain knowledge.
