Ciena's Product Verification team helps ensure the quality and performance of packet optical transport solutions that support global communications networks. This role contributes to product verification activities, lab operations, and issue investigation across technologies including optical transport, packet OTN, and Ethernet switching. The position provides ongoing exposure to Ciena products, test environments, and verification processes.

How you will make an impact:

  • Execute product verification test strategies for packet optical network products under the guidance of senior verification team members.
  • Identify, investigate, and track product deficiencies through resolution.
  • Collaborate with design and verification team members to confirm product conformance to design intent.
  • Configure lab test environments that reflect customer network deployments.
  • Maintain lab test configurations and related systems.
  • Manage product and lab inventory used for verification activities.
  • Develop knowledge of Ciena transport products and test equipment through ongoing training.

The must haves:

  • Education: Technology degree or diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 2+ years of relevant technologist experience.
  • Application of computer software and productivity tools.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and self-directed approach to assigned work.
  • Interest in learning and applying new technologies.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in team-based and independent environments.

Nice to haves:

Pay Range:

The hourly pay range for this position is C$24.37/hr - C$35.89/hr. 

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission. In addition to competitive compensation, Ciena offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, participation in 401(K) (USA) & DCPP (Canada) with company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays, paid sick leave, and vacation time.
