Position Purpose
We are seeking a Product Technical Manager to oversee the monitoring, development, and optimisation of the technical performance of Interface products across Australia and New Zealand. In this role, you will provide essential support to both sales and production teams for resilient and carpet products, while leading a variety of improvement projects. You will also manage a small team within our NATA-accredited laboratory.
Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with marketing, sales, and other technical divisions, including our global and EMEA technology and innovation teams. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for product excellence and teamwork to make a significant impact.

Areas of Responsibility
- Keep updated on Interface product developments – engagement in global and local meetings
- Liaise with the global and local new product development teams to ensure new product functionality meet Australian standards and is fit for purpose.
- Provide the strategy, implementation methodology and the technical support for product advancement, including a focus on carbon take-back
- Drive product cost improvements from a product specification perspective
- Works closely with Product Marketing, NPD and QESH Managers on technical requirements, standards, and product analysis of new products.
- Provide technical and project support to Account Managers, including industry engagement.
- Management and development of technical personnel including for the NATA accredited Sydney Carpet Laboratory
- Provide day-to-day support and direct technical product support for manufacturing operations, including investigation, analysis, and recommendations.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Tertiary qualification in Textiles, Science or Engineering
- 10 years operational / technical experience, ideally within the textiles industry
- Ability to work within a dynamic environment and driven by results
- Previous experience establishing metrics, KPI and drive of positive changes within the business
- Proven experience leading and coaching a team
- Patience, resilience and tenacity to identify root causes for product poor performance and manufacturing process deviation in a continuous manufacturing process
- Demonstrated ability to establish and implement product technical & quality Strategy and Teams Plans
- Ability to negotiate with and influence key local and global stakeholders
- Experience with ISO 17025 would be highly regarded
- Lean manufacturing credentials and experience
