We are searching for a motivated Product Owner to work closely with a cross-functional software development team. The Product Owner is an important role that combines user advocacy, collaboration, creativity, strategy, and technical skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Be a problem solver. But first, dive in to discover the real problem to be solved. Connect cross-functional agile development teams to the problem and generate excitement for creating outstanding results for customers.
- Work closely with the Product Management team. Define epics and user stories with appropriate acceptance criteria. Maintain and prioritize the product workstream backlog.
- Discover the most important problems to solve and effectively weed out what doesn’t bring significant value.
- Get creative. Look at problems from different angles. Ideate solutions with the development team. Work with UI and UX designers to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Develop feedback loops to gather insights from customers and stakeholders.
- Serve as SME, providing guidance and expertise on product features, functionality, and industry best practices.
- Maintain a solid understanding of the industry, of the customer base, and of the software technology stack.
- Assist in the coordination of dependencies with other teams and departments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Familiar with UI and UX design techniques and best practices
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment
High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
2+ years’ experience in agile software development
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, accounting, MIS, other related fields or equivalent work experience
Experience with the following is a plus: Supply chain management, building materials, enterprise resource management systems (ERP), B2B applications
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal office environment with use of computers and telephone systems; no unusual physical demands
Travel as needed, including business air travel and car rental
