Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking a Product Owner to manage the product lifecycle for assigned products. This includes managing the vision and roadmap for products and services based on input from stakeholders, customers, market research and industry insight.
This role works under minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment to ensure the appropriate activities have been carried out for new applications. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency with a highly collaborative approach, exhibiting excellent communication, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
This position is ideally located in Houston, Texas, but can be based in any of our US offices. We offer a hybrid schedule which is primarily remote with in-office meetings as needed each month. The position reports into the Application Portfolio Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Developing and maintaining advanced functional knowledge of business process related to assigned applications and use of systems integrated assigned applications.

Defining the vision, strategy, roadmap, release plan, and ongoing prioritization assigned applications; including defining the minimum viable product for releases

Lead and managing the product lifecycle from concept to decommissioning; including managing the product and release backlog

Understanding and Defining customer problems, use cases, value propositions

Validation of customer pain points and requirements

Partnering with stakeholders to develop business cases to gain approval for product or service investment

Partnering with Enterprise Architecture in vendor selection and management to ensure alignment to product delivery strategy

Coordinating with UX to ensure design meets functional needs

Ensuring traceability of requirements from stakeholders to product release

Partnering with the Change Management and Training teams to develop and implement a successful change management and training program

Soliciting user feedback for product and delivery improvement

Collaborating with peers to determine resource needs on projects and sustaining teams.

Conducting and participating as needed in reviews for requirements, application design testing strategy, and change control activities

Communicating status and change requests to stakeholders

Point of Contact within the Application Services team to share overall customer needs, vision, and direction. Agile execution through management of the product backlog, epics, user stories, iteration plans and feature acceptance.

Coordinating with stakeholders to develop acceptance criteria, sample data, and User Acceptance Testing.

Providing inputs into end-user training, materials, and support

Prioritizing features for releases based upon agreed Critical Success Factors – including features and bug fixes

Making tradeoff decisions between scope and schedule within agreed constraints

Gather and analyze user feedback to continuously improve and enhance products.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information science, or Business -related field preferred

Minimum three years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner

Proficient in using Product, and Requirements management tools like Azure DevOps
-
Proficient with Excel and other core Microsoft applications
-
Requires knowledge of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and must be able to execute within both Agile and Waterfall deliveries of the SDLC

Proficiency in analyzing software applications and assessing individual features and modules to determine fit for business purpose

Preferred experience in the legal industry

Preferred experience with HR solutions

Preferred certifications: Product Owner Professional (PO)
