Overview:

The Product Owner is responsible for identifying and managing product requirements, prioritizing the engineering team’s work on features and bugs, and supporting feature launch and rollout processes.

He/she holds the vision that will be executed by the agile team. The Product Owner is also responsible for understanding and developing fleshed out features with product management, working with the engineering team during grooming sessions to translate those features into user stories, and validating the feature before release. He/she has the ability to shape the future of our products through his/her insights, analysis and ability to communicate and realize a vision.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for one or more of our Agile development teams, serving as a key liaison between the Product/Engineering team and the operational and client partnership stakeholders
  • Maintain a willingness to learn and deepen personal knowledge of the assigned product area(s) and program applications to understand how changes to features and functionality may impact the greater solution
  • Triages incoming work requests/tickets in a timely manner
  • Create, maintain, prioritize and sequence the team backlog according to business value and existing commitments
  • Work with the Product and User Experience teams to provide detailed guidance and prioritization during the product development process in an Agile environment
  • Assist with the elaboration and refinement of Epics, and Features into user stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint
  • Serves as primary author of user stories, including incorporation of clear acceptance criteria and use cases
  • Assist the product, engineering, and Scrum team during regular ceremonies: feature review, grooming, sprint plans and demos by being the voice of the customer and communicating the value behind each product and prioritization decision
  • Inspect the product progress at the end of every Sprint to accept or reject work done
  • Conduct user acceptance testing on features and bug fixes before they are released, ensuring the high quality of products that are being delivered to customers
  • Communicate to Leadership, Customer Success, Support and other stakeholders rollout plans, feature details and bug status updates
  • Conduct stakeholder UAT and product training
  • Maintain compliant product documentation per Ansira standards
  • Make key decisions and judgments on own
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in designated product area

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business
  • At least 2-3 years of software product experience, preferably in a SaaS environment
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching products 
  • Willingness to learn nuances across many bespoke, custom applications
  • High energy, can-do attitude with willingness to do what it takes to get things done in a rapidly changing environment 
  • Highly quantitative, analytical and business-minded 
  • Ability to solve complex problems in an organized way
  • Exhibits active listening skills and technical awareness
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, including ability to anticipate likely outcomes/assess risks 
  • Comfortable working closely with Engineering and experience with Agile development teams 
  • Highly responsive and exhibits excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Ability to communicate with senior leadership
  • Willing to take initiative and offer help/support to others as needed without compromising completion of assigned work

 

Not required, but would be a plus:

  • Knowledge of e-commerce, multichannel commerce, online retailing, website user experience, website testing and other marketing strategies

Skills Required
