Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 3–5 years of Product Management or Product Ownership experience.
  • Direct experience with card issuing, issuer processors, or card networks (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
  • Hands-on understanding of authorization, clearing, and settlement processes.
  • Strong knowledge of card program mechanics including BIN sponsorship, scheme rules, transaction lifecycle, disputes, chargebacks, and card controls.
  • Strong API expertise with experience reviewing API specifications and designing developer-friendly APIs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convert technical and regulatory concepts into product requirements.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes.
  • Experience working in fast-paced and ambiguous environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with issuer processors (Marqeta, Episode6, Thredd, or similar) and card networks (Visa, Mastercard) to integrate and operationalize card issuing programs.
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of card issuing features including card issuance, lifecycle management, transaction authorization flows, and program controls.
  • Translate card network rules, processor capabilities, and compliance requirements into detailed product and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review API contracts, validate implementations, and ensure successful delivery.
  • Define and manage APIs related to card issuance, controls, and transaction webhooks.
  • Design merchant-facing controls including spend limits, merchant category restrictions, transaction rules, and card program configurations.
  • Partner with legal, compliance, risk, operations, and GTM teams to ensure regulatory adherence across multiple markets.
  • Support commercial and partnership teams in designing card programs for enterprise and embedded finance customers.
  • Contribute to platform scalability, reliability, and extensibility initiatives.
